Catholic High announces new principal Dr. Stella Arabie-Delcambre

Catholic High School of New Iberia has announced that Dr. Stella Arabie-Delcambre has been hired as the school's new principal for the 2018-2019 school year. 

Dr. Arabie-Delcambre, a 1995 alumnus of Catholic High School and the school's current vice principal and CFO, will step into the position that is currently held by Principal Ray Simon. Simon has served as principal of Catholic High for six years and announced his resignation in November 2017. Simon and Arabie-Delcambre are said to be working together for the remainder of this academic year to ensure a smooth transition.

Catholic High says that Dr. Arabie-Delcambre will be the first female principal in the school's history and will also be the first principal to serve while also having students attending the school. 

The school announced Arabie-Delcambre's hiring this morning in a private meeting with faculty and with students at an assembly this morning. The photos of the assembly are below:
