Two arrested after attempted armed robbery in Port Barre

Port Barre Police say they have arrested two suspects in connection with an attempted armed robbery of a Dollar General.

 Police says that on  Tuesday, January 30, 2018, the Port Barre police received a complaint of an attempted armed robbery at the Dollar General Store, located in the 200 block of Frisco Street.

Upon arrival, police spoke to a Dollar General employee who told police the suspect approached the register and allegedly pulled out a knife, demanding money. Police say the employee grabbed the phone to call 911 and the suspect ran out of the store.

Police were able to view video surveillance and identify the suspect as 33-year-old Jarvis Castille of Port Barre. Castille was arrested on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, and charged with attempted armed robbery.

On January 31, 2018, Castille was arrested and charged with Attempted Armed Robbery.

While further reviewing the surveillance videos, police say they noticed a woman, identified as 33-year-old Ebony Washington of Port Barre, with Castille inside and outside the store. Police say that Washington appeared to have been his lookout. 

Washington was arrested on February 1, 2018, on charges of Principal to Attempted Armed Robbery.
