Scott's Fire Department is responding to budget cuts and increases in calls with a gun raffle fundraiser.

The department says the raffle is expected to help offset their rising costs of operations and a recent 60 percent budget cut.

In 2016,  Lafayette parish budget cuts forced the department to stop responding to calls outside city limits for more than three months. Read more on that here

"We did a little research on it and think it will be a good fundraiser everybody around here likes hunting and fishing so we think it will be good. We have a combination of hand guns we have a combination on shotguns and a variety of different weapons," says Chad Sonnier Scott Fire Chief.
