St. Landry School Board to hold second of six tax proposition forums

The St. Landry Parish School Board will host its second of six forums to discuss a two-part tax proposition on the March 24th ballot.

If the proposition passes the district will have $99 million in bond money to use for improvements over a 2-year period. The proposition also includes a $3,000 salary increase for teachers and $2,000 dollar raise for support workers. Superintendent Patrick Jenkins and members of the SLP Parish Schools and Board will be available to discuss and answer any questions community members may have

The forum will be held tonight at North Central High School in Washington beginning at 6:00 pm. 

The remaining forum dates have also been set and are listed below:

Wednesday, January 31 - Northwest Central High School

Wednesday, February 7 - Northwest High School

Thursday, February 15 - Opelousas High School

Wednesday, February 21 - Port Barre High School

Wednesday, March 7 - Beau Chene High School

All community forums are scheduled to begin at 6 pm in each school's auditorium.
