WILKINSON COUNTY, Miss. -

Two adults, a child, and a dog are dead after their pontoon boat capsized near the Buffalo River area in Mississippi this morning, WBRZ reports. The victims, a man, his sister-in-law and her son, are said to be from West Feliciana Parish.

At 6:30 a.m. this morning, a group of four hunters was using a fishing boat and a pontoon boat. The pontoon boat served as a duck blind. Authorities say that when the hunters were moving from the fishing boat to the pontoon boat, the pontoon boat capsized. One of the hunters was able to escape and make it to shore, but three remained trapped in the water, including the child, according to the Baton Rouge media outlet.

As of 2:30 p.m., the pontoon boat had been recovered. The three bodies were recovered shortly thereafter.

Search crews from Louisiana, including a Baton Rouge dive team, assisted Mississippi law enforcement during the search.

We will update the story when more information becomes available.
