OPELOUSAS, La. -

Opelousas Mayor Reggie Tatum will be formally arraigned in court next week, court records indicate.

Tatum, who was indicted last fall in connection with an overtime scandal first reported by KATC, will appear before 27th District Judge James Doherty on Thursday.

Tatum surrendered after he was named in a 15-count indictment on charges that stem from the nearly $13,000 he paid himself after 2016's historic flood.

After Tatum's predawn surrender to the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, he appeared before a judge and posted and was released on a $10,000 bond.

At his formal arraignment, the charges against him will formally read to him and he will enter a formal plea of not guilty.
