The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a Lake Charles woman on charges of Cruelty to a Juvenile.

Deputies were called to an incident on November 11, 2017, of a complaint of cruelty to a juvenile at a local elementary school. Upon arrival, detectives observed an 11-year-old boy with open cuts and bruises to his legs, back, and arms. During the investigation, detectives learned that a family member of the boy, identified as Lien N. Frick, 47, of Lake Charles, was allegedly responsible for the cuts and bruises.

Detectives spoke with Frick following the investigation where she admitted to allegedly whipping the child with a plastic coat hanger. After the investigation, the case was handed over to the District Attorney's Office. A warrant was issued for Frick's arrest and she later turned herself into CPSO. Frick was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with cruelty to a juvenile. She was released on bond.
