Very wet start to the weekend

Posted: Updated:

It is quite the turnaround from the weather we had on Thursday and it didn't take long for those showers to come rushing into the area and set up a soggy start to the weekend.

While cloudy Friday is going to be a quiet weather day and even if it looks like rain is threatening the wet weather will hold off, mostly, until overnight Friday and into Saturday.

That being said an isolated shower or two will be possible later in the afternoon on Friday but most of us are going to stay fairly dry as we wrap up the last day of the week.

A few thunderstorms will end up embedded in the band of showers on Saturday but it doesn't appear as if severe weather will be an issue at all, the biggest issue will be the rain.

Models have settled around the 1-2" range for rainfall on Saturday with a few hotspots that end up a little higher, right now not anticipating any kind of flooding, but as we've seen before it doesn't always take much.

Rains will quiet down Saturday night and the sun will poke through by Sunday afternoon.
