Jennings teens turns self in after shooting in Lacassine

The suspect in connection with a Lacassine shooting has turned himself, according to the Jeff Davis Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say the incident occurred on January 5, 2018, in the parking lot of the Bayou Mart on Hwy 101 in Lacassine. During the incident, police report that a victim was shot in the arm with a 9mm pistol. Both the victim and the suspect had fled the scene by the time deputies arrived. 

Surveillance video at the Bayou Mart show where the alleged weapon was disposed by the suspect. 

The victim was later located at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital and was treated and released.  On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, the suspect, identified as 17-year-old Chad Michael Touchet of Jennings, turned himself in to the sheriff's office. 

He was booked on charges of obstruction of justice, the Illegal carrying of weapons, and Illegal possession of stolen firearms. Touchet is held with no bond.
