KATC's Katie Lopez was LIVE this morning with Acadiana Center for the Arts as they get ready to host their 13th annual Cinema on the Bayou International Film Festival. It all starts tonight, Wednesday, January 24, at 6:30 pm.

The festival has selected close to 180 films from around the world to be screened at venues in and around Lafayette. The eight-day festival will be held from January 24-31, 2018.

Opening day for the Bayou Film Festival begins on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at 6:30 pm at Acadiana Center for the Arts. It will kick-off with the world premiere screening of the documentary short, "Rifles & Rosary Beads."  The film is a chronicle on the making of an album and follows folk singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier and combat veterans and their spouses at SongwritingWith:Soldiers retreats.

Following the film, Mary, a Louisiana native based in Nashville, will perform songs from the album, which includes eleven deeply personal songs.

Several film festival alumni are expected to attend. To learn more about Acadiana Center for the Arts and click here.

Festival tickets and passes are available for purchase at the festival's Eventbrite page.
