Nature enthusiasts host planting day in Arnaudville

ARNAUDVILLE, La. -

The prairie seed bombs are launched and ready to grow after today's planting event in Arnaudville.

The event was hosted by Atelier de la Nature, a nature reserve and education center in St. Martin Parish.

Participants made seed bombs, and once they were all rolled up, the seed bombs were launched into a field by a catapult.

"The idea that there's prairie in Louisiana is pretty amazing, so we kind of want to raise awareness for that and bring some of that native habitat back. And we're also planting 1100 native trees. And the idea is to kind of reforest this area," said event organizer Brandon Ballenee.
