This official artist of this year's Festival International de Louisiane was at the festival's headquarters in Lafayette today, signing copies of the limited edition festival poster.
Mollie Wallace, who studied at the Pratt Art Institute in New York, moved to New Orleans after graduation where she works for the bar Erin Rose, painting bar signs and murals.
Wallace says while there were many inspirations from Festival International for this year's poster, one group stood above the rest.
"When I came out here for the initial meeting about the artwork, they showed me pictures of the street performers and musicians. The streetwalkers really inspired me, especially. I just thought the stilt walkers were really just striking. It's such a cool visual," said Wallace.
