According to Slidell Police, a suspicious package left at a  post office turned out to be filled with human waste and not an explosive.

Officials with the Slidell Police Department were called out to the scene Friday afternoon after a call referencing a suspicious package. During the investigation, Chief Randy Fandal says the post office was blocked off. The St. Tammany Bomb squad assisted in the investigation.

After several hours, at around 8:00 p.m. Slidell Police tweeted out that the suspicious package was found to be filled with 70 pounds of human sewage or feces.

Fandal says that a person of interest has been questioned. Officials say the person of interest appears to have some mental health issues.
