Curfews set in Acadiana due to freezing temperatures.

Evangeline Parish  The curfew for the parish has been lifted for Wednesday night

St. Martin Parish

St. Martin Parish issued a curfew Tuesday at 8:00 pm until 6:00 am. There will be no curfew for Wednesday night.

We continue to encourage residents to stay off of the roadways at this time due to the accumulation of ice on the roadways and bridges of St. Martin Parish. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

The City of Breaux Bridge will be implemented a citywide curfew from Tuesday from 9pm to 6am. There will be no curfew Wednesday night in Breaux Bridge.


The City of Opelousas will be instating a curfew beginning at  6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018, until 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018. The curfew will be effective immediately. 

If anyone, who has not been able to receive help with getting access to shelters can go to the Opelousas Police Department for the night. The Men's Shelter on South Street will be taking men. Women and children will go to the Police Department

The Town of Melville will have curfew 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018, to 6:00 a.m. Wednesday. All residents are asked to stay off the roads, police will be enforcing this curfew. 

Vermilion Parish

Kaplan has a curfew from 6 pm to 7 am.
