Abbeville pays tribute to Selma to Montgomery March

Posted: Updated:

People of all ages are paying tribute to the men and women who lost their lives during the civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery in Alabama.

A reenactment was held today in Abbeville before unveiling the 9th Annual African American Heritage Exhibit.

"We have so much chaos in the society today, and it's things like this that remind us to keep pushing; keep going; don't stop. If you know anybody that's having problems, you bring them to events like this. Remind them who they are, where they came from and where they're going," said participant David Broussard.

The African American Heritage Exhibit in Magdalen Square will be on display from January 13 - February 27.
