Ragin' Cajuns Wrap Up SBC Homestand Against ULM

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns men’s basketball team wraps up a season-high, three-game Sun Belt Conference homestand on Saturday when it entertains ULM at the Cajundome.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The game can be heard in the Lafayette area on KHXT 107.9 FM and ESPN 1420 AM, and worldwide on the ESPN 1420 app. The game will also be streamed live on RaginCajuns.com.

The game between Louisiana (14-3, 4-0 SBC) and ULM (7-8, 1-3 SBC) is part of the “Take A Kid To A Game” promotion with all kids, ages 11 and under, receiving a free ticket.

Louisiana improved its overall SBC win streak to 10 games – matching a school-record – in an 81-64 win over Coastal Carolina last Saturday. Frank Bartley scored 22 points to lead Louisiana with Malik Marquetti tying a career-high with 17 points.

Bryce Washington scored 11 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for his fourth consecutive double-double for the Ragin’ Cajuns and 34th of his career with Johnathan Stove coming off the bench to scored 16 points.

• Louisiana looks build on its best 18-game start since opening 17-1 in the 1972-73 season.
• Ragin’ Cajuns head coach Bob Marlin began his coaching career at ULM as a graduate assistant (1981-83) under then head coach Mike Vining.
• Louisiana’s 10 consecutive SBC victories dating back to last season is tied for the longest in school history. The Ragin’ Cajuns won 10 straight SBC games from Jan. 22, 2011-Feb. 26, 2011.

SCOUTING THE WARHAWKS
• ULM, currently 1-3 in SBC action, opened league play with losses at Arkansas State and Little Rock before leading wire-to-wire in its SBC home opener against Coastal Carolina. The Warhawks are coming off a 79-73 setback to Appalachian State, squandering an 11-point lead in the second half.
• Travis Munnings and Sam McDaniel are averaging 15.4 points each to lead ULM with Marvin Jean-Pierre next at 11.5. Munnings pulls down a team-best 6.8 rebounds for the Warhawks with Jordan Harris ranked seventh in the SBC with 3.7 assists.
• The Warhawks average 72.4 points per game on the season and lead the SBC in free throw percentage (.757).

UP NEXT
• Louisiana heads to the Lone Star State for its next two games beginning on Thursday (Jan. 18) at UT Arlington in a 7:15 p.m. contest. The Ragin’ Cajuns will conclude the weekend traveling to San Marcos to face Texas State on Saturday (Jan. 20) at 4:30 p.m.
