Abbeville City Marshal Jeremiah Bolden has issued a press release asking for an investigation of the incident at the Vermilion Parish School Board meeting this week.

Bolden issued a brief release stating that he "has called for" a third-party, independent investigation of the arrest of a Vermilion Parish teacher by one of his deputies.

School Board officials say the woman was out of order, under Robert's Rules of Order and the board's policies regarding meeting procedure. Our video caught her leaving the room, with the deputy marshal behind her. Our cameras also caught her being arrested in the hallway a few minutes later. To read our stories, click here

The board president says the incident was a set up based in politics. The teacher says she was protesting the superintendent's raise, maintains that her First Amendment rights were violated and says she may sue.

We've asked Bolden who is conducting the investigation, but we haven't heard back from him.

We did reach out to State Police, the agency that frequently do investigations for police agencies, if they'd been asked to do one into this incident. They say they have been not been contacted about the case.
