Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: Broussard Police have identified the man they found dead under a home on Regal Drive this morning.

Police were called to the home when someone spotted a man lying partially under the home, with blood, a spokesman said.

When police arrived they found a white man near the rear porch of the empty house, laying face-up and lifeless.

Police say Skyler Barry, 23, of Lake Arthur had been shot several times in the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed the shooting occurred at that location but it is still unknown as to what the connection is to this residence, which is under renovation, the spokesman said.

The investigation revealed that this homicide is connected to the homicide that Lafayette Police Department is working from during the night.  A joint investigation is ongoing and Lafayette Police is the lead agency that will be releasing more as the investigation continues, including any suspect information.
