Cold continuous with little warm up

Posted: Updated:

The cold continues across much of the country and Louisiana is no exception as we find ourselves in one of the coldest stretches in Acadiana over the last several years.

Temperatures on Monday just made it to freezing, and while Tuesday should be a little warmer it won't be by much so still expect bitterly cold temperatures once again.

Wind chill will remain in the 20s and teens through the majority of the day as winds remain fairly breezy out of the north close to 8-12 mph with the occasional gusts up to around 20 mph in the morning.

Sunshine won't be as abundant as it was Monday with a layer of clouds moving in first along the coastline and then gradually pushing north to the interstate, which won't help with temperatures.

The clouds will then clear Tuesday evening and will allow the thermometer to read down in the upper teens for the overnight low, wind chill will remain a factor through the rest of the week.

Continuous cold weather will continue through the rest of the week with little warming expected until the weekend.
