ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. -

A teenager is dead and two others are injured following a fiery crash overnight in St. Landry Parish.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop I responded to a single-vehicle crash on LA 103 at Frilot Cove Road. The crash claimed the life of 18-year-old Ethan Thibodeaux of Opelousas.

Troopers say Thibodeaux was driving a truck south on LA 103 when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle traveled off of the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. The truck then ignited into flames from the impact.

Thibodeaux sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Landry Parish Coroner's Office.

Two passengers in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

A state police spokesman says impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash; although, routine toxicology samples are pending.

This crash remains under investigation.
