The man accused of the slaying of a North Dakota woman in 2016 is back in jail in connection with the murder of a man in Carencro this week.
Deputies, with assistance from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's SWAT team, arrested 44-year-old Joseph Delahoussaye, Jr. shortly before 3:00 a.m. this morning at a residence in the 100 block of Rue Du Jardin. A spokesman with the sheriff's office says gas was used multiple times while apprehending him.

Delahoussaye is accused of killing Bobby Duplechin in the 800 block of LA 1252 on Wednesday.
In January of this year, the suspect was indicted on one count of second-degree murder in the death of 29-year-old Rachael Alexander, of Devils Lake, North Dakota.
On September 2, 2016, Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a suicide at a residence on Georgine Street, but after further investigation, deputies continued the investigation as a homicide.
Delahoussaye was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center in lieu of $500,000 bond. He was later released on bond.
Deputies are now searching for evidence in connection with the murder of Duplechin near the pontoon bridge on Herman Dupuis Road in St. Martin Parish.
