A Lafayette teen is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with a deadly shooting last week.

Carencro police and Lafayette sheriff's deputies arrested Rontreal "D-Jack" Prejean, 18, early Friday morning on a warrant stemming from the shooting.  Prejean is accused of shooting Tyrie Frederick, 23, last Friday morning after a fight outside the Southeast Neighborhood Center on City Avenue. Frederick later died at a local hospital.

Three other people, a 14-year-old male, a 15-year-old male, and a 22-year-old woman were also shot.  They suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say Prejean, a rapper, was hired to perform at the Christmas party at the venue.

Prejean is also facing three counts of attempted first-degree murder in connection with the shooting.  Police say they are continuing their investigation into the shooting.
