Port Barre men cited for deer-hunting violations

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited two Port Barre men for alleged deer hunting violations on Christmas Day.  

Brandon Bergeron, 27, and Joseph Bergeron, 42, were cited  for failing to comply with deer tagging requirements.  Brandon also given a ticket for possession of an illegally taken deer and hunting without a primitive firearms license.

During the investigation agents received information about a nine point buck that was allegedly harvested by Brandon on December 15  during the rimitive firearms season.  Agents then learned that Brandon didn’t possesses the correct firearms license at the time the nine point buck was harvested.

According to agents, during questioning Brandon admitted that he had Joseph tag the deer for him.  Agents seized the deer meat and antlers.
