Jeff Davis Deputies have made two arrests in connection to burglaries in the parish spanning several months.

Deputies say that detectives were successful in solving 16 burglaries in the parish involving the same individuals. Numerous other burglaries in outside parishes also involved the same suspects.

The thefts, detectives say, happened between August and December of 2017. Arrested in connection with the burglaries was 38-year-old Aden Greek of Hathaway and 29-year-old Lacanda Nicole Ortego of Eunice.

Deputies say  the items taken that have been recovered in some of the cases include a utility trailer, a safe and tools.

The two have been booked into the Jeff Davis Parish Jail. Ortego is charged with 2 counts obstruction of justice, theft, 2 counts of simple burglary, simple criminal damage to property and is held on a $40,000 bond.

Officials say this is Ortego's fifth time to be arrested.

Greek is charged with simple burglary, illegal possession of stolen things, switched plates, and other traffic violations, he is held with no bond.  Deputies say that Greek's arrest in this investigation is his sixth time to be arrested and charged with a felony crime.

Additional arrests and charges are expected.
