Loreauville mother get surprise gift as soldier returns home for the holidays

Posted: Updated:

Edie Boudreaux of Loreauville was in for a big surprise this holiday season after a very special gift arrived at her door.

The gift came in the form of her eldest son, back from deployment in Korea.  Boudreaux says her son US Army Sergeant Tyler Simon has spent 18 months away from the family in Korea and most recently has been stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas since June.

In that time, Edie says she had not seen or hugged her son. Boudreaux explains that her other children knew about Tyler's arrival but kept it a secret from her.

"My daughter, stepdaughter and my other son knew about this but failed to tell me. Hence my screaming and crying," Boudreaux says.

In the video,  Boudreaux starts to help a family member when she sees Tyler enter the house. It's all screams and tears from there as Tyler hugs back, with maybe a bit of confusion on his face.

It's a beautiful reunion after so much time away.
