GMA Morning Sports: December 21, 2017

KATC's Sports Director Andrew Clay shares with GMA a morning recap of all things sports and sports news for Thursday, December 21, 2017.

Early Signing Day

On Early Signing Day, the Cajuns make no official additions to their roster, but Coach Billy Napier announced that Monroe native Rob Sale will follow him from Arizona State to serve as the Cajuns' offensive coordinator.
Sale spent time with Napier at Alabama and has also coached at Georgia and ULM before winding up at ASU.

LSU added 19 players to their roster Early Signing Day. Ten of the early signees hail from Lousiana including East Ascension's Cameron Wire.
24-7 sports ranks the Tigers' class 7th best in the nation. 14 of their commits are 4-star athletes.
That put's LSU just behind Alabama and Georgia with the third most in the SEC.

UL Lafayette Women's Basketball

UL Lafayette Women's Basketball won their conference finale over Alcorn State yesterday. The final score was 67-47.

Upcoming Sports News and Events 

Day two of the LCA Classic continues today from the Lafayette Christian Academy gym. The annual event is one of the best high school basketball showcases in the state. 
In the NHL, a big Western Conference battle between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Dallas Stars begins tonight at 7:30 pm. The teams will hit the ice a the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Tonight at 10 catch the KATC sports feature "For Future, Present & Past" where we take a look at Welsh's State Championship win from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome's section 401.
