Lafayette man indicted following shooting on Hansel Drive

A 26-year-old Lafayette man has been indicted following a March shooting that left one man dead.

On December 19, 2017, investigators with the Lafayette Police Department arrested Jeantrell Pierson for the March 16, 2017, shooting death of John Jones, which occurred in the 100 block of Hansel Drive, according to Cpl. Karl Ratcliff, spokesman for the Lafayette Police Department. 

Pierson was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder.  He was already incarcerated in Lafayette Parish Jail on an unrelated charge.
