Opelousas Children's Christmas Parade rolls

Posted: Updated:

The Opelousas Children's Christmas Parade rolled tonight at 6 p.m.

Parade Marshall was Carlton Morton of Opelousas. Morton is a graduate of Opelousas Senior High School who currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia and works on Bravo TV's hit reality show Real Housewives of Atlanta alongside Supermodel Cynthia Bailey as her assistant on the episodes.
The parade began at 6:00 p.m. at St. Landry Catholic Church on North Main Street and rolled south through historic downtown Opelousas ending on Creswell Lane.
Morton is the Director of Social Media at The Bailey Agency School of Fashion and recently started the Louisiana Dream Academy, a program for kids in Louisiana who aspire to be models and actors. One of his companies is a celebrity assistant staffing firm which trains and hires celebrity assistants for clients such as singers Keri Hilson and Janelle Monae as well as Reality Star/Actress Kenya Moore, and a host of other Hollywood notables.
Morton is very active in the community and does volunteer work throughout the year to support many amazing causes. In May 2017, he partnered with the City of Opelousas to bring the Louisiana Model Search to the Opelousas Civic Center. He lives by the mantra "When life gives you lemons, make peach soda and let the world wonder how you did it." Carlton is the son of Delores Morton and the late Ronald Morton.

The Opelousas Children's Christmas Parade included colorfully lit Christmas themed floats, brilliant high school marching bands, loveable cartoon characters, and of course everyone's favorite, Santa Claus.
