GMA Sports recap for December 14, 2017

KATC's Sports Director Andrew Clay gives us a morning recap of all the sports news and events happing today, December 14, 2017

LSU News

LSU's Notre Dame matchup in the citrus bowl, the same bowl the Tigers won in 2016 isn't the sexiest on paper, but don't tell the Tigers.

Speaking with reporters yesterday, Danny Etling lit up when talking about the Irish. He says he learned his first football from watching Notre Dame adding that the 2007 Sugar Bowl game between the Irish and Tigers first introduced him to LSU

"I'm excited being a Catholic kid, Notre Dame was a big part of my life. My grandfather went to Notre Dame, my uncle went to Notre Dame, my mom went to the school across from Notre Dame, St. Mary's. Then my uncle went to Holy Cross." says Etling.

On the Hardwood

UL wins its sixth straight game against Southeastern with a 68-56 victory on the road last night.
Simone Fields led the Cajuns with 19 points in the win.
UL, now 4 and 6, heads on the road to play LSU on Sunday. The team's 4th and final SEC matchup of the season.
