Clear skies and chilly temperatures will greet you this Monday morning. Temperatures are running in the 30s and 40s, but everyone is at or above freezing today. A ridge of high pressure is holding across most of the west, extending into the western Gulf of Mexico this morning, while a deep trough continues to keep much of the eastern half of the United States on the cold side. A mild day is on tap for Acadiana as sunny skies are expected to push temperatures into the upper 60s this afternoon. Winds will be from the southwest. Another shot of cold air will slide across the Great Lakes today, eventually reaching our area Tuesday. Overnight temperatures will only reach the mid 40s for lows, but temperatures will struggle into the low 60s Tuesday afternoon, even with full sunshine.
Quiet weather will stick with us for the middle part of the week with chilly temperatures again Wednesday with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s. Thursday should bring a few more clouds with highs in the mid to upper 60s. Friday could bring a stray shower over the southern sections and clouds will hang on Saturday with highs in the 60s most of the weekend. It appears it will get quite warm and muggy again by the end of the weekend into early next week with highs in the 70s, but rain chances will be climbing.
