A Carencro family has lost their home to a fire.

Firefighters were called to a home on Arnaudville Road at about 11:30 this morning, a Lafayette fire spokesman said.

Firefighters from Lafayette, Carencro, Scott and Arnaudville responded to the mobile home fire. All the residents of the home, including their pets, were able to get out safely, the spokesman said.

After about 30 minutes, firefighters were able to get the fire under control, with assistance from Youngsville and Broussard fire departments, he said.

The occupants, Lacey Gautreaux and Mike Roy, were in a room when they noticed smoke coming from a bedroom on the opposite side of the mobile home. They exited the home with their dog and called 911. No injuries were reported, the spokesman said.

The mobile home was destroyed by the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, he said, but investigators say it was not related to a space heater.
