Winter Weather Advisory issued for portions of central Acadiana from midnight until noon Friday. 

A freeze warning has been issued for northern Acadiana from Friday at 3 AM until 9 AM. Plants and pets should be protected not pipes. Pipes don't freeze until temperatures hit the mid-20s

The advisory is for the following parishes: Avoyelles-Allen-Evangeline-St. Landry-Jefferson Davis-Acadia-Lafayette-Upper St. Martin

The National Weather Service says: Rain will begin to mix with or change to snow after midnight. Most areas will see little if any accumulations, however a few locations along and north of Interstate 10 could see temperatures cold enough tomorrow morning that some accumulations of less than an inch could occur on grassy surfaces, rooftops and elevated roadways. 

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain that may cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
