Winner of the Home For the Holidays announced

LAFAYETTE, La. -

 

Congratulations to Gwen Faulk of Lafayette, the new winner of the Home for the Holidays!  Gwen's name was picked during the 6:00 newscast on KATC-TV3 tonight.  

The 2017 Home for the Holidays was designed by Foster Nix, Architect and built by Ste. Marie Home Builders. It is in Bayou Tortue Manor subdivision in Broussard, LA. The gorgeous, one-story home is valued at $495,000 features 2,813 sq. ft. of living area in an open floor plan with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. 

A brand new, stainless steel refrigerator courtesy of Top's Appliances and Cabinetry valued at $3,099 won by Bryan McLain of Lafayette; Jane LeVasseur of Lafayette won a $2,000 Furniture Credit from Marty's Woodworks; Michael Robichaux won a custom diamond necklace from Armentor Jewelers valued at $6,500. 

Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket for a chance to win. 

"Home for the Holidays" is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and annual project of the Acadian Home Builders Association (AHBA) and KATC-TV 3. Each year, the builder and associate members of AHBA build a brand new, state-of-the-art home which is given away in a raffle drawing right before Christmas. Proceeds from raffle ticket sales are dedicated to local, shelter-related charities including Lafayette Habitat for Humanity, Faith House, Healing House for Grieving Children, and St. Michael's Center for Veterans. So far, AHBA and KATC have been able to donate over $1.8 Million to these four adopted charities since the project's conception in 2005.

The I-10 Bowl pits the best high school football players in the 337 against each other, in one final showcase on the high school gridiron. Lafayette now leads the series 2-0.
