The residents of Church Point are invited to participate in the homecoming of Sgt. Kermit LeJeune, a POW who died in Korea in 1951.

LeJeune will be returned to his hometown next week for burial.

His remains will arrive in Church Point at about 2:30 p.m. on Monday, December 11. The hearse will come into town on Highway 95 from Interstate 10, proceed up Main Street, turn left on Plaquemine Street, then left on Broadway to Duhon Funeral Home.

Residents and business owners on Main Street are asked to fly their flags that day. Residents also are asked to line the streets with flags to welcome LeJeune home.

Duhon Funeral Home has flags for residents to pick up, while supplies last.
