Soldier killed, one injured after vehicle crash on Nov 30 near Fort Polk

A soldier with the 10th Mountain Division was killed after a single-vehicle crash on Thursday, November 30th near Fort Polk. 

Fort Polk officials have identified the soldier killed as Spc. William A. Rhodes, 22, of Hurricane, West Virginia. Rhodes served as an infantry rifleman in the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division. He joined the Army in October 2015.
 
Another soldier, Sgt. Alejandro Galvan, who was also in the vehicle at the time of the accident, was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was released on Saturday, December 2.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
