Lafayette's Coyote Blues is now closed with no notice to customers or employees. Now those affected by that closure are demanding answers.
"It came as a surprise to many people and a lot of us are really sad about it," said customer Carly Littell Lejeune
"We booked the room, we arrived the day of, only to find a letter taped to the door saying thank you Acadiana for your 14 years of business. We can't believe that it had canceled without any notice to us. And then it all began to unfold as we found out even the employees were unaware that it was happening," says Littell LeJeune.
We spoke with one of those employees off camera, a bartender who worked here for seven years.
He was blind sided and given no answers about why the restaurant closed.
"Our issue paled in comparison to those of the employees who just found out they had no job in the middle of holiday season," says Littell Lejeune.
Those employees could soon have brand new jobs thanks to other Acadiana restaurant owners. The Cajun Table is one of several local restaurants offering jobs to Coyote Blues' former employees through Facebook.
"We found out last night about how they closed their doors on their employees and it kind of broke our hearts, in a way, right before Christmas. We wanted to reach out to anyone who would want to come and apply, like we're hiring," says Lauren Liner, the owner of The Cajun Table in Lafayette.
