Students create ornaments for National Christmas Tree Experience in DC

Posted: Updated:

A little piece of Louisiana will be part of the National Christmas Tree Experience at President's Park in Washington D.C.

Tenth and eleventh graders from the Magnet Academy of Cultural Arts in Opelousas created 12 ornaments representing Louisiana's culture and environment.

"I learned that there's a lot of people that don't know what Louisiana is all about and our scenery is really big around here," said Gabrielle Janice, tenth-grade student.

"I hope that they take away that Louisiana is a really colorful and fun place and we have a lot of cool stuff going down here," stated Morgan Glasscock, tenth-grade student.
