A special meeting will take place Tuesday in Opelousas. City council members will be discussing the budget that was passed two months ago.
The meeting was scheduled after the budget committee chairwoman said she asked for a copy of the current budget, and was told the numbers were never put in.
Budget committee chairwoman Sherell Roberts said she was told that Mayor Reggie Tatum instructed staff not to put the numbers in the system.
Other Opelousas Alderman told KATC they have also asked for copies of the budget and were told the same thing.
Council members believe if numbers weren't put into the system, they are lead to believe all city departments are operating on 50% of last years budget.
Opelousas Chief Administrative Officer, Rod Sias, told KATC everything is fine and he will solidify and explain everything at tomorrow's meeting.
KATC will be attending tomorrows meeting and will continue to update you on the latest findings.
