Former Ragin' Cajuns head coach Mark Hudspeth issued a statement today on his twitter account thanking fans and supporters of the Cajuns for allowing him to "lead your football program for the past seven years!"

Read his full statement:

Hudspeth was terminated from his position as head coach of the Ragin' Cajuns football team on Sunday a day after the Cajuns lost their last game of the season to Appalachian State with a score of 63-14. This season was the third straight losing season for the Cajuns.

Hudspeth's overall record as head coach was 51-38, but with sanctions from the NCAA that record ended at 29-38.

Director of Athletics Bryan Maggard says that coach Michael Desormeaux will serve as acting director of the Cajuns while the athletics team searches for a new head coach.
