Press Release

EUNICE, La. - LSU Eunice capped off the fall semester in style with a 103-65 blowout of Patrick Henry.

The 103 points are the most in the Bengals program since a 2010 victory over Southwest Adventist (118-46).  The 38-point margin of victory is the largest since a 44-point win over Patrick Henry back on Jan. 10, 2014 (81-37).

LSUE (9-2) pushes its win streak to six games, the longest under head coach Amanda Clemons.

The Bengals threw the first big blow early, starting the game on a 15-2 run.  Sissy Saucier and Rylie James both knocked down a pair of three pointers to help LSUE race out to a nine point first quarter lead, 30-21.

Saucier scored 14 of her 15 points in the first half to help lead the Bengals to a 53-39 edge into the locker rooms.

LSUE stormed out the gate in the third quarter, outscoring Patrick Henry 26-13.  A 15-5 run late in the quarter helped the Bengals push their advantage to 28 points before the reserves took over for the rest of the game.

James led the six LSUE players to score double-digit points with 20.  It's her third consecutive 20-plus point game.

For a second straight game against Patrick Henry, the Bengals dominated on the glass.  The nation's 5th ranked total rebounding unit, again, cleaned up inside with a 63-35 margin over the Patriots.

Bethany Broussard notches her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.  Jaleya Gold also recorded the first of her sophomore campaign tallying 15 points and 14 rebounds.  Gold's 15 boards are a season high for any Bengal this season.

The Bengals now take off for finals week before hitting the road for just the second time this season.  LSUE makes a return trip to West Memphis, Ar. To face Arkansas State-Mid South on December 14.  LSU Eunice upended the Greyhounds 96-86 back on November 9.  Fans can also find the latest Bengals information on social media via Twitter (@LSUEBengalsWBB), Facebook (@LSUEuniceBasketball) and Instagram (@LSUEBengals). ?
