Alleged Baton Rouge serial killer indicted

An East Baton Rouge grand jury handed up three indictments against Kenneth Gleason. 

Gleason was indicted on one count of first-degree murder, one count of second-degree murder and one count of attempted second-degree murder. 

He's accused in connection with a September shooting in the attempted second-degree murder case, and of the second-degree murder of Bruce Cofield and the first-degree murder of Donald Smart. 

No arraignment date has been set, and no decision has been made as to whether or not the death penalty will be sough in the Smart murder, said EBR District Attorney Hillar Moore. 

Gleason was arrested in connection with the shooting deaths of two black men and with an incident in which the home of a black family was shot up.
