Lafayette man convicted of manslaughter

A Lafayette man was convicted of manslaughter in the 15th Judicial District Court on Wednesday.

On October 14, 2015, Kenny Duffy killed Calvin Gabriel Jr. at a location of Camp Road and Will Turner Road in Lafayette Parish, according to District Attorney Keith Stutes.
   
Duffy will be sentenced at a later date after a pre-sentence investigation and faces a possible sentence of up to 40 years at hard labor. 

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Michele S. Billeaud and was investigated by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Detective Drew Leblanc.
