Louisiana State Superintendent spotlighting Vermilion Parish school

Posted: Updated:

State Superintendent John White is spotlighting some of the best examples of good work in the state.
He says J.H. Williams in Abbeville is an example of what's right in education. White says he is proud of the hard work put forth by both teachers and students.

"A special school is not just special for the kids in the school, it's a special symbol to the rest of us that change is possible, that improvement is possible, and great things can happen for our kids," said the superintendent. "Louisiana kids are just as smart and just as capable as any children in this country, any children in this world and a school like JH Williams helps to remind us that that's possible."

White spent the morning in Sulphur and in the Lake Charles area talking to teachers and students.
