Man arrested in connection with Monday's armed bank robbery in Broussard

A man has been arrested in connection with Monday's bank robbery at Community First Bank in Broussard.

According to a press release, John Allen Charles, 27, of New Iberia is facing attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery charges. Broussard Police Chief Brannon Decou says that Charles was identified as the driver of the getaway vehicle that picked up the shooter. The vehicle was stopped in the vicinity of the robbery.

Investigators say enough information was obtained to place a warrant for Charles arrest. 

Investigators say that they are still actively working on the case to locate the actual shooter/ robber.
