Staff member of governor's office resigns amid sexual harassment allegations.

A member of Governor John Bel Edward's staff has resigned amid sexual harassment allegations, WBRZ confirms. 

According to a report, Deputy Chief of Staff Johnny Anderson has stepped down after a number of sexual harassment allegations were leveled against him. These allegations come from within the governor's office. 

Lapolitics.com first reported the story Wednesday afternoon.

WBRZ received the following statement from Deputy Chief of Staff Richard Carbo on the departure of Anderson.  

"We take these allegations very seriously. Upon commencement of the investigative process, Johnny Anderson resigned from the Governor's Office. The investigation will continue, and we are unable to comment any further," the statement read. "Gov. Edwards has zero tolerance for sexual harassment and it will not be tolerated in this administration."
