The Coast Guard is responding to a report of an approximately 504-gallon oil "discharge" from a hole in a pipeline in a marsh area near Pointe à la Hache in Plaquemines, Wednesday.

Officials say the source of the discharge has been secured. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received the report of the discharge at 2:40 p.m. OMI Environmental Solutions, an oil spill response organization, is on the scene in response to the incident.

The pipeline is owned by XTO Energy. There are no reported injuries or waterway restrictions due to the incident.

The cause is still under investigation.
