A Clinton woman just celebrated her 90th birthday the way all people do, with a party and all her family and friends.

The day after her birthday, however, June Boutte celebrated another way, by shooting and bagging a four-point, 140lb buck at her favorite hunting spot near Clinton.

KATC spoke to Ms. Boutte's granddaughter Bea J Williams who said that June was excited to take down the deer the day after her birthday party. But Monday's deer wasn't June's biggest prize, 15-years ago she snagged her biggest, an 11-point, 250lb buck.

For a woman who's been hunting all her life, It's a no-brainer that June would be an expert in bringing in such a lofty prize. Boutte enjoys going out to her deer stand, which her granddaughter says is in a secret location in East Feliciana.

The 90-year-old goes out to the area with help of a hunting club, but the shooting is all her own. Williams says that the group helps Boutte in and out of her stand, along with collecting any game she shoots.

The deer she shot will not go to waste. The birthday prize will be served alongside their Thanksgiving meal, a gift her entire family can be thankful for.
