Now that long-time chief Todd D'Albour is heading to New Iberia, another familiar face will take over the top spot.

Deputy Chief Danny Semmes will serve as Interim Jennings Police Chief, said Mayor Henry Guinn.

"We wish Todd the very best, he was a great chief, and we're going to miss him," Guinn said.

D'Albour was appointed chief at Tuesday's City Council meeting. To see that story, click here

Semmes will be interim chief while the city starts the application process as any city would, Guinn said.

"Danny has been a great deputy chief, but we're going to explore all our options," Guinn said.
