Iberia Parish Deputies say that two juveniles were involved in a shooting Tuesday afternoon on Rosier Street in New Iberia.

Iberia officials say that at around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017, a shooting occurred on the 100 block of Rosier Street in New Iberia. One juvenile, a 17-year-old male, is in custody and will be charged with attempted second-degree murder and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail, according to officials. Another 17-year-old, a cousin of the suspect, was transported to a Lafayette hospital. He sustained a single gunshot wound to the upper chest.

Deputies say the suspect allegedly pulled a handgun during an argument and shot the victim once. The suspect was located several blocks away and placed under arrest.
