St. Landry Parish Sheriff's deputies have arrested a teen in connection with a recent bomb threat at North Central High School.

Kashley Sonnier, 17, of Palmetto was booked with Communicating of False Information ofPlanned Bombing on School Property. Her bond was set at $50,000.

The incident happened on Friday. Deputies went to the school at about 8:30 a.m. because a note was found stating that a bomb was in a bathroom and was going to go off at 10:40 a.m. on November 11.

The school was placed on lock down and a search was conducted.

Sonnier and other suspects were transported to the St. Landry Parish Safety Complex for questioning. Sonnier allegedly admitted to writing the note. Several other suspects were released, but were suspended from school because they allegedly "trashed" the bathroom while Sonnier was writing the threat, a spokesman said.

“We take all bomb threats seriously, the school was locked down for 2 ½ hours.  This meant valued law enforcement resources were tied up, and the students were not inside the classroom receiving an education," Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said. "My office will continue to investigate these threats and arrest anyone who threatens the safety of our kids and educators.”
